Margelit’s Video Editing Guide for The Perplexed

Waaaaaay back in the day, I wrote a post called  How To Edit Video: an 8-Point Style Guide. I recently discovered (many thanks to Reputation Rhino) that this post has since been mentioned on the Image Media Partner’s blog where they discuss in  depth some of the tips that I provided in my article:

“The other day I was reading Margelit Hoffman’s blog on ‘How To Edit Video: an 8-Point Style Guide.’ Margelit makes some very good points that cover some of the basic concepts of editing video for the beginner….”

It’s a very good article and you can read the rest of it here.
Thanks y’all!  It always makes me feel special.  🙂

I don’t use Photoshop – haven’t since college, but I was excited to hear that they’re catching up to the video craze. Now with with Photoshop CS6 you can edit videos as well.

The new Timeline panel allows you to arrange clips, apply transitions and add Photoshop effects, borrowing a bit (I suppose) from Adobe Premiere.

Here’s how to get started with video editing in Photoshop CS6:

1.Create a new document.

2.Choose “film and video” from the presets and click OK. This will create your canvas.

3.Add the video you want to edit to the canvas by selecting the file or by using drag and drop. This will create a Video Layer in the layers panel.

4.Click on Create a Video Timeline, which will bring up the Timeline panel. Now you can edit!

New Facebook Feature: Edit Comments

Well here’s a Cool New Thing we’ve heard about via Sean Malarky and Sarah Zeldman, the eMarketing Maven: the Facebook overlords have decided to let us edit our comments. This’ll come in handy for correcting embarrassing spelling or grammatical mistakes, or editing comments that might accidentally include a little TMI (it happens to the best of us). Have a look below to see a handy how-to guide! You’re welcome 🙂
